I Look Like I'm In Pain...

Miss Marleigh Culver has inspired me to write more with a kind comment on my last detailed blog. So here I am. Under a week (?) from my last entry. w00t!

So I had an actually pleasant conference with my devil (as in this lady is actually a human form of satan) of a teacher. She said that I had good ideas and had something legit to work with. In other words: I DON'T SUCK!!!! YAYYYYYYYYY!!! You have no idea after the heartbreak/mindbreak which was the first progression how happy this made me. The lecture we were required to go to recently: no so much happiness. Apperently the girl was really insightful but I couldn't understand a word coming out of her mouth. She was an author, an Iraqi woman. I think this was her first time to New York City. Anyways the venue we went to was cool though. Apperently it was the place were a presidental candidate named Abraham Lincoln made some speech that eventually won him the presidency. It's called Cooper Union.

I saw Pygmalion on Broadway Thursday night. It's with Claire Danes. The movie My Fair Lady is based upon it. Only I discovered something (to a theatre kid) that is funny:

In My Fair Lady, Audrey ends up happy to be with Higgens, as his servant but equal. But in the play, Eliza discovers her own womanhood and leaves Henry.

In the movie A Streetcar Named Desire, Stella decides to leave Stanley because she believes he has done horrible things. In the play, Stella is torn between her attraction to Stanley/she semi-believes he is right and her loyalty to her sister, but ends up staying with Stanley.

Movie cop outs.

A little drama her in the apartment but nothing that I really care about. I have found that I am increasingly good at spereating myself from things I don't want to be apart of. Which is bad in the sense that: if I don't like this class I will seperate myself from it.

Anyway, the show gets a C+ in my opinion, with the Farnsworth Invention at an A, and Cyrano de Bergerac at a B.

Oh yeah, I totally saw Cyrano de Bergerac last night. Be jealous.

It starred Kevin Kline, Jennifer Garner and Daniel Sunjata. It was really good. The sets of all these shows just blow my mind. I MEAN TALK ABOUT THEATRICALLITY!!! WOOOWZAH. Damn. That's all that can be said. Damn.

Oh by the way, if anyone is interested in buying me one of the dresses in Cyrano, feel free.

Jennifer Garner's performance was about a B. Kline the same and Sunjata at a B+.

I wanted to wait for Kline to come out but my toes about fell off.

And let me explain my picture with Jennifer. I am cold, wet, and tired, and the lady behind me had just shoved her green umbrella into my picture so I was straining terribly to get into the shot at all.

Tommorrow I am going to do rush for Cymbeline, wihch I will explain later.

All in all good night. I ended up playing card, mental, electronic games with P, Lindsay, Fabi, the boyfriend MAnny, and Susan and Sophie for about two hours.

Can't sleep tonight again. Have been up for about 20 hours and I am now getting the wisps of sleep. I really am an Insominiac. Less that nine hours in the past two days and I'm bouncy. I really don't know whether to think of it as a gift or a curse. Preferably a gift that I am trrying hard not to abuse.

Sick Sick Sick

SO yeah, last night I came home. I went to the Wellness Center on Wednesday and they gave me some behind the counter strength sudafed. But it didn't get better. It got worse. And the creepy spider bite that was on my right ear, is now on my left ear. So I went to the doctor here and told him my symptoms and he thinks I have broncotis (sp, I don't care). So I got an antibiotics thats supposed to take care of that and my skin infection on my ears. I think I have MRSA because they say it is often mistook for spider bites, swollen skin, and pus filled sores. Hello!?! yeah, that's what I have.

Daddy and I waited in the doctor's waiting room for almost 2 hours and it took another like 40 mins to finally gin et outta there. They swabbed my throat and it came out negative but they are sending it out anyway. We also went by the eye doctor. They gave me some Daily contacts to try. They are thinner and disposable. So that means no hassale of cleaning and no worries of eye problems that way.

Oh let me catch you all up on my illness/injuries:

1. Huge quarter sized blister on big toe of left foot from walking in the parade HAlloween night in practically new shoes. I totally popped it. IT was like a little explosion. Took a bunch of paper towels to wipe it up. Did I mention I like popping things?

2. Broken toenail. SEe above.

3. Bruises. Adler is abusive.

4. Cramps. Period blues.

5. Sore throat. Cold issues force me not to talk and now I can't work on voice work which SUCCCCCKKKKKSSSSSS.

6. Runny nose. Better than a stuffy one I suppose.

7. Cough. Probably from the last two items.

8. Sinus Headache.

9. Stye in eye. Doesn't bother me anymore but then again it isn't gone. If it isn't gone by Christmas break, I will look into it further. I haven't heard of eye cancer before but I could be wrong.

10. Clogged glans in eye. Supposed to be taking fish oil and flaxseed oil supplement and a vitamin but I often forget to take it before meals as I refuse to take them at breakfast. (my reasoning I don't want the first thign I eat in the morning to be pills) But I might have to change that now.

Top it off with OCD, a slight curve in my spin, insomnia, stress, anxiety, and low blood pressure causing me to faint more than normal and you've got yourself one messed up child! Yay! 10 bucks says I get the flu, a bladder infection or need eye surgery by the end of the year.

After the doctor Mom Dad and I went to Max and Ermas. It was yummy even though I couldn't taste it fully. We started talking about geneology and I asked Mom if we could start looking into ours. She said that she's gonna get on it. She also said she would get me a trash can for my bathroom but that never happened.

Anywho, I feel like crap but mommy and daddy are taking care of me. Mommy just bought me some warmer pjs and some slippers (which totally rocks cause I hated the last ones I had).

Sarah left today. I left her note saying goodbye because obviously I'm not up there to say goodbye to her today. Apperently I won't get a new roomate for a month or so or more likely not until the next semester (after Christmas break). Hopefully I can keep a single. If I get a new roommate I ask Lee (my general Tisch advisor) to see what he can do. I need space for my creativity. Or so I will say.

So right now I'm listening to Daddy practice guitar through the vents (he is above the garage). Mom and I are going to pick up my prescription tonight and then going to maybe get a movie, as I don't feel up to doing anything else. I doubt I'll make the movie. I'm supposed to be napping but for some reason I haven't been tired until suddenly right now. The doctor is also giving me some stuff to make me sleep better (aka knocks me out liquid medicene).

Today I woke up around 12:30 and got some lunch. I saw Aiden (a kid from Adler) there and since he always seemed really sweet i invited him to sit with me. I also saw Riteesh (Adler) and Roberto (strasburg) whom are roomies that I bump into from time to time. They sat down and we had a few laughs. It was odd: me and three straight guys. That doesn't happen alot, if ever.

I got dressed and Patricia (whom I always call P and will from now refer to her as that), Fabi, Lindsay and I went to a museum. It was the Museum of Sex. Hm.

Well then, ahh.... haha. Um we all took alot of pictures that I don't feel like are appropriate to post. It was divided into three sections: different types of Kink or Fetishes. Sex in film. and the history of sex education, toys and bondage. The Kink section was quite mind opening. I learn alot of subset of kink that I wasn't familiar with. the moving picture exhibit was really fascinating. I'm not going to go in depth here. It was an interesting set up though. It was in one room and the screen were placed all around. It was dark except for the screen (which illuminated the room alot actually). But it was werid sitting next to random stranger watching a thing on sex. Random japanese tourists, old married french couple, gay guys from chelsea, and us college students. What a mix. In the history of sex part we saw some really funnny things. Like sex ed videos from the 70's. Very funny. And old pornographic picture from like the 1890's.

Afterwards we went through the street fair on Park avenue right outside Union Square. I tried this really interesting thing. It was two patties of sweet corn mill fried and then they melt a cheese inbetween. It was really yummy. The name started with a P. Then I couldn't resist when we walked by a candy apple stand. I pick up a stick of chocolate covered marshmallows and chocolate covered bananas.

Then P and I walked by the Green Market and headed back. Evelyn came over. We rehearsed for an hour then got sidetracked. Lindsay picked up a movie (it was movie night). I choose Tristan and Isolde as the girls have never seen that before. They all liked it.

The rest of my weekend:

Sunday:

Eye appoitment.
Dinner with Dylan
yoga with Dylan
maybe go to a bar with studio friends

Monday:

Pedicure at 10:30
Actor's Studio with Dylan at 12:00 (Halle Berry)
Rehearsal with Evelyn from 4:30 to 7:30

And somewhere in between all that I have to do my homework. Like now I guess. So I'll upload the pictures and call it a day.

Adler Day

Today I felt really crappy. I didn't sleep well and I feel fat and I hurt. But that's life. I woke up at 8:30. Went to Adler. Did voice, ballet, lunched by myself, adler technique (porch exersice), and then scene study (which was a hoot with open scenes). Afterwards Evelyn and I went to the NYU costume loan center and picked out some costumes for our Chekhov piece (I'll get someone to take a picture of us before we have to return them). I also got a sneak peak at the Galileo csotumes they are making. They are beautiful and decadent. Whoosh!

Last night I gathered all my vitamin waters and we did a lil photoshoot:

Today

Today was super long. As predicted. But in a good way. It's draining but it's cool. Movement wasn't crazy like some other days, Adler kept me awake and active unlike other days, lunch at Palladium via the subway, scene study (I did my three entrance scenes that Alice deemed okay but mediocre which was to be expected because she scares me and I wanted to play it safe), then Improv (we did mirrors, I was with Gus, then we did these improv scenes with camera/focus changes: I was with Seth and Jen and we did a scene as musicians on the Titanic as it was sinking and I couldn't stop laughing, Evelyn Emily and Rafie did a love triangle scene at a wake, Gus and Katie were on Survivor, Scarlett Arianna and Shae were in prison and the other one I don't remember cause it wasn't very funny I guess), and then voice and speech class which I deemed my best one ever because my voice was really deep and strong and I projected well.
Then I followed Evelyn back to her dorm and we read through the first half of our scene a bunch-o-times. We are going to check out some costumes in the NYU costume shop tomorrow (apperantly it's really hard for kids to rent those costumes but because ETW kids are right there its a breeze for them so we are borrowing some of evelyn's friends to rent some costumes, this is what rocks about having a second year partner). And tomorrow night we are going to rehearse here at my dorm for about an hour (we have already put three hours in, change you believe that?). We are finally going to put it on it's feet. I love working with Evelyn because she takes it as seriously as I do. Which I'm sure the other scene partners do but of course I'm me so I deem mine the best. Right now I'm soooooooooooooooo drained and have a lot of work to do. So I'm going to go eat some chocolate cake and get to work on my butt load of homework that I put off doing yesterday.

Diet, Diet, Diet, Diet Coooooooooooooooooke

So this past weekend was pretty awesome. I went home on Saturday. The flight is only like a half a day of traveling so there is still time to do stuff when you get to Virginia. I went to Schlosky's (sp?) and then said hi to the puppies. Mom made me mac and cheese and cabbage. It was really comforting just being there. I really needed that. I really really needed that.

I got a massage by request of mom and my voice teacher. I then went to Sarah Robo's 18th birthday party. It was fun surprising everyone. Haley and Kai were by far the funniest.

Sunday I woke up and went to the doctor's office. Apperently, I don't have a sty on my eye, it's actuallly a growth of some kind. I'm going to probably have to get it cut off or removed somehow. Fuuuuuun. Mom has a recommendation of a lady I'm suppose to go see. Hopefully she will be avaliable this weekend.

Then we went to Bravo's which was so nice. Then momma took me shopping!!!! We went to Ann Taylor Loft, and Macy's, and Dillard's, TARGET! and Victoria's Secret, it was great. I got a bunch of really cool stuff. I wore one of my new dresses today.

I really really really really really didn't want to leave. It was so hard. I needed about four more days of just being there. But I had classes today.

The plane was delayed an hour and then we had to sit on the ground for an hour but I got at the dorm around ten thirty so it was all cool. I wrote my first draft of my big essay for my writing class and went to bed around 3:30 this morning.

After class today I went to the book store and got my mom a copy of a book she was looking for and a t-shirt for dad. I went grocery shopping. Grabbed some lunch and hung out with Jewlie for about two hours. Something is screwy with my card though. It didn't work when I went to get dinner but they let me in anyway.

I'm in the middle of doing laundry (my whites) and I have to try and finish up my homework.

On the agenda:

Rehersal Weds, Thurs, Fri, and Sat with Evelyn

Conference with Roberts on Weds

Gym and Pedicure (hopefully) on Sat

Movie night with the girls on Sat

I have a feeling this will be a long week. Not in the "ugh" high school long week sort of way. It's just going to be alot of non-enjoyable work.
