Monday

I got at eleven again. There was some confusion about when we were going grocery shopping. I thought the girls had already left. Jewlie thouight Lindsay was at the gym. Lindsay was at the store thinking we were on our way. So Jewlie and I left to shop at around noon thirty and got lotsa stuff for the week (I don't want to have to worry about eating or shopping this week). It's a crazy week because studio isn't normal. It's oreintations, special talks, master classes, etc etc. Anywho we got back and just milled about until the floor meeting at 3:00 pm.

After I re-visited the monologue I'm doing for the first day of scene study class. Then Sophie, Lindsey (the other one from downstairs), Jewlie, Patricia, and I all left at five for the Picnic at the Plaza (not THE plaza, a plaza).

On the way there I spun the cube. The cube is this huge piece of art in the middle of a busy intersection called Astor Place. I pass it every time I have to go to the Washington Square Area. It actually spins if you push it really hard. So we did. It was really cool actually.

We got at the plaza about forty five mins early. Everyone was doing warm ups and testing the mics. They wouldn't let up in but we got in line and were like only behind twenty or so other people. I got some Starbucks and hung out until six when they started letting us in. By then the line was around the block for two reasons: 1 free food, 2 free performances.

We were let in and got front row seats. We got a NYU seat cushion and frisbees. A free day pass to Crunch gym and bunch of other stuff. And free food! Picnic style. I got a veggie burger. Yummy.

The first people up were this really really really really really really really cool all male accapella group (all NYU kids) called Mass Transit. I have a bunch of pics and vids on my cell phone but I forgot to take my camera so all that stuff will come later. They sang some song I didn't know, Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield, Sexyback, and Buttons by the Pussycat Dolls. It was really funny and good!

Then was a student who is like a proffessional polynesian dancer.

Then this one guy who played aucostic guitar, played the harmonica and sang at the same time. He was funny.

Then the mixed accapella group called N'Harmonics which was even better than Mass Transit! They sang some disco song, "Like a Prayer," "Feelin' Good," and some Fleetwood Mac song.

In between the acts the student council had competitions for Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards. I was in the dance contest. I was the runner up. A black guy who could break dance was the winner.

Patricia was in the hula hoop contest. It was so much fun!

Then four of the members of spring awakening came out and song two songs from the musical. One was a tisch grade and one was a former student that had to drop out to do the musical. I got my picture with them! Pics to come...

So tonight I have a lot of stuff to do and basically will be busy busy busy tomorrow.

Sunday

So Sunday was pretty nice. I got up around eleven, running late (I didn't hear the alarm clocks), and met Dylan via taxi at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art, which is midtown around 53rd and 5th). We wandered in the there for about three hours (Pollock, Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet, Warhol, DuChamp, etc etc) and I studied the Richard Serra pieces for a while (I have to write a paper on it sometime this week probably tomorrow night).

Then we met Jewlie, Fabi and Lindsay in Saks Fifth Avenue (in their cafe the kid's menu has a thirteen dollar peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but at least the nutella and banana on wheat was "reasonable" at fourteen fifty), which was cool because I had never been in it. Then we walked to Tiffany's where Fabi had some jewlery cleaned. Tiffany's, although makes cool jewlery, has cool boxes and looks nice, is really cold and sterile on the inside. Although they do have elevator assistants and that is cool.

We took the subway back downtown to the dorm. That was a mistake. It took twice the time and we ended up like five blocks away anyhow. Dylan and I could've paid five bucks each and been there quicker, less smelly and less stressed but hey I guess that is... part of the experience. I did see a funny tourist from Texas (his shirt read "the bigger the better") and he took a picture of the subway coming down the tracks. It was cute.

Dylan and I went to a nice little Thai resturant about two blocks from the dorm and it was really nice and calm. I showed Dylan the apartment and we changed into our yoga gear early so we could check out St. Mark's Place, which is fun if you haven't ever been there. The entire place is super famous and you should check out it's cultural importance here:

This website has some pictures of places I pass almost daily:

-Side note of above picture: Chickpea is a super cute fast food indian resturant-

Then we went to Yoga for The People. It's a donation based yoga studio that is just one room in St Marks. You rent a mat for 2 bucks, bring a towel and water and then donate what you can. It was so intense. We went to the candlelight session which is only on Sundays but I think I'm going to go every Sunday. It was such a workout. It was so hot because they didn't keept the air on to make you sweat. And when we came out we were soaked. It was so strenuous. I don't really think I'd call it fun. It was a different type of workout and it was very good.
Then Dylan and I came back to the dorm. He went back to midtown around ten and Patricia and I watched Down With Love on my laptop.
Tomorrow I'm going grocery shopping with the girls at eleven, then out to lunch, followed by a floor meeting at three and the picnic with spring awakening at five.

Friday Finale

So I did leave the apartment. I went to by tape and glue. The glue is for my scrapbook (if you know me you know what I mean) and the tape is for our wallpaper. Or rather my idea of wallpaper. I've started tapeing fashion ads to the walls like wallpaper. And it actually really cool. All the girls love it. I'm excited although it did take me about an hour and a half to do one wall. But it's wicked cool and really makes the place homier.

I got the flowers from my dad today. They were kinda werid but I borrowed Lindsay's vase, threw out our old flowers and rearranged the ugly ones into something girly and pretty.
Eventually we went down to the ice cream social. It was funish. All us girls (that were left from the fourteenth floor: Jewlie, Patricia, Lindsay, Fabi, and myself with Sophie) decided to go to meander down the streets to Union Square. We ended up spending an hour or so in Virgin record store. It was a little overwhemling but cool. Then we hit the Food Emporium. I got my essentials: sparkling lemonade, gouda, macoroni salad, and weight watcher muffins. And a luna bar. Just stuff for me.

After that we came back to the room and invited the "boys" over.

Let me explain:
About two nights ago I noticed a guy wandering around in his dorm across from ours (we see their little common room from our window). Jewlie saw him too then saw this really cute guy. So later that night when we were playing catch phrase and Fluxx and having a girls night of it we saw them again and waved. They kinda geeked out and closed the blinds. So we decided to punish them by writing a letter and sticking it on our window that read "You are no londer invited to our panty party."

So fast forward to Friday morning. We woke up to a sign that read "Fuck you and your pants" in one window and "sorry" in the other. We were kinda confused but then realized that the two seperate windows are two seperate suites (they don't have a penthouse like us). So we wrote "So cruel, an apology would've been more acceptable." So we continued like this for a day or so and then eventually I wrote down their number and invited them up for some salsa and chips and some laughs. A bunch of them came but three were nice enough to stay for an hour or two: Brett, Martin, and Dean. All are film majors and indieish but really nice and chill. Super jealous of our sick penthouse suite. As should be.
They left around midnight and all the girls went to bed. Except me. I'm the only night person in the dorm (weird, I know) and the girls are going to take the subway up to central park for breakfast and just to walk around. But I'd already promised Dylan I'd spend the day with him at MoMA which I'm fully excited to do.
We also going to go to candlelight yoga tommorrow night at 7 p.m. Very cool.
Fashionably Yours,
K Fergie Ferg

Friday

Friday as I said, I slept in. Just kinda milled about until three at which time I went to meet my advisor.

It was all theatre kids, about ten of us. I knew one kid: Rafie, he was also in my mentor group. He was the only other Adler. Basically my advisor wasn't there because he is in Europe doing something theatrical at the moment so Scott, the director of all things special (minoring, double majoring, study abroad, etc) was our sub. He was actually the guy to audition me. Turns out he was in the theatre program (Playwright's Horizon) and he had lotsa good info for people such as moi. We kinda just talked about credits and stuff and then got some info and took a mini tour of the Tisch building.
I met up with the girls at the NYU Starbucks and I got a milkshake things and this super disgusting looking green smoothie. It is supposed to be good for you and since I haven't been 100% I thought I would try it. First off I really shouldn't have read the ingredients. It has barley grass, wheat grass, blue green algae, sprulina, spinach, broccoli, and some werid things I'd never seen before. So I downed about half of it before I felt like I was going to puke. But later that night I did feel better, whether it was from the smoothie or not I'll never be able to tell.

When I came back to the dorm I cut out some black and white pictures from this photography book that Lindsay has. She is cutting some out to post in the common room. I also cut out some magazine clippings to put inside my desk. I'm going to post the pictures somewhere in my room leaving room for my marilyn banner and two pinups. Actually I think I want my other pin ups too to put in the common room.

Then we ordered some pizza and just played some games until abou eleven. I then popped in season two of That 70's Show and watched the episodes I haven't seen.

So my room def needs a orange gossamer or something to put over the closet and something for my blinds. But other than that I'm happy.

So I have a lot of little things to do today. I'm really not looking forward too. Actually I don't really have to leave the dorm today. There is an ice cream social down in the courtyard tonight and I have pizza from last night for dinner so I think I'll just go out for some tape to start on putting fashion ads up in the common room.
