Alrighty. So I moved into my dorm on Sunday (it's Tuesday) and was pleasantly surprised to see my actual apartment. I'm in the explorations group, meaning the floor and the floor below us are a community called Fashion Arts Hits NYC. Meaning, the 12 or so of us girls on the top floors of our tower love fashion and clothes and girly stuff. They are all pretty fly I must say.
Move in day was a bitch. Okay, it was not fun. It was humid, I was sweaty and it was unpleasant. However we did manage to find a parking space and get everything up in one trip (thanks to the handy dandy bins on wheels). The dorm is pretty awesome. I'm down in Greenwich Village aka the Village. Or more specifically the East Village. I'm actually in a great location. Five minutes from Union Square. Ten from Washington Square. So yeah, I'm super happy. I'm on the 14th floor, the top floor, the penthouse. Our common room is about the size of a basketball court (maybe not THAT big, but huge). And it's pretty cool. The kitchen is huge and every the bathrooms are at least somewhat roomy (even though they are disgusting and because we are on the top floor we get like no water pressure in the showers but whatever). From the common room you can see the Empire State Building (it's so pretty at night) and from my room you can see the Brooklyn Bridge.

So my girlies on the top floor at pretty awesome as are some of those on the floor below but I just don't know them as well. Special shoutouts to Lindsay, Sophie, Fabiola, Jewlie, Kelly, Juliana, and of course my super chill indie roomate Sarah.
I have to say that Jewlie definatly wins best room decorations because she is head to toe decked out in Hello Kitty and it is Sanrio-licious. Sarah and I have the smallest room and of the five on the top floor (oh yeah there are only 9 of us on one floor, how great is that!?!?!) but it is nice and the furniture isn't like rotting away or anything. But the A/C is falling off of the wall so we have to fix that.

My computer also broke. Well I guess it didn't break, it was always broken or something. Apperently I don't have a chip on my board or something. So I've been computerless for about three days but it's super chill because there are computer labs everywhere.
Alright so the parents left Sunday right after our community (the fashion kids) meeting. I think it was all fine. I'm cool so far and I think they are too. Maybe mom's a little lonely and dad is a little uneasy but that's it.
Oh! So I'm pretty much in love with the Village. My mentor (second year adler kids giving incoming adler kids advice and a small tour) is pretty sweet. Shoutout to Carlyn! And Josh and Jesse for helping. We learned some pretty nifty stuff.
Okay so on move in night I had a blast with Kelly (communications, and our Tawainese princess even though she is from California), Juliana (dance, ballet predominatly), and Sophie (drama, Atlantic). We all went (and snuck Kelly into) the Tisch Loft Party. It was held on the top floor of the beautiful student center. It had the most breathtaking view and an amazing DJ. We dance for at least two hours and I met so many crazy and super nice people. It was really fun.
Yesterday, I got like six hours of sleep and woke up around eight to go to Book Talk. I was presently surprised to know most of the other people hated the book as well. We had a grand ole time poking fun at it. Afterwhich I bumped into some CAP kids (musical theatre), who I kinda tagged along with but where really uppity and not very friendly so I ditched them the moment I spied Sophie heading into the Study Abroad info session (which we left early in favor of lunch). I was super interested the topics China and the London RADA program.
Last night we had another Fashion meeting and Tina said that for our projects this year we can go to Fashion Week, maybe go to Steve Madden or Marc Jacob's design studio, and Teen Vouge has shown interest in doing a piece in the magazine about us if we doing a special project (like a fashion show for charity or something). I also plan on applying to represent our floor in the dorm government thing. I would kinda dig that: shouting about how much money we need.

Then we all paraded down to the president's welcome which was kinda cool. I saw the dance team, the president and some other special people. But the bagpipers were freaking hardcore!
So yeah. It's pretty awesome so far. I do have to say some of the fellow drama boys in our tower are mighty cute. Apperently that's like a requirment for Strasberg (being cute). But all I can say is I'm pumped about Adler and am really tired so I think I'm going to take a nap.
I'll try to keep this blog updated for people interested in apply to NYU, so they can see what it is like and also to keep my friends informed of what I am doing even though I might be super busy and not call them for long periods of time. But I'll definatly try. And if you want to talk or gossip CALL ME!!! I'm in this big city and I need a support team behind me. So be nice and give me a ring sometime in September.
LOVE YA!

Today I got up around eight, ate breakfast and then Juliana (fellow Tischie) and I hauled butt to our Academic Planning meeting. Basically it was super boring but I got a free tisch pen, wallet and backpack so it was worth it. After I went to American Apperal, which I'm freakin in love with (can you say gold lame hot shorts!) and bought a black pencil skirt and some pink tube socks a la Holly from the Girls Next Door. Then I found my way into Shakespeare and Co. which is a small bookshop on Broadway with a huge section in the basement of just plays and theatre books. I mean more than I could read if I wanted too -sigh-. Went grocery shopping, had a moment of peace when I ate by myself at the Chinese Resturant across the street, and currently am waiting for Jewlie and Lindsay to get back from taping TRL.
